Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert's chin quivered, "I promised her that if anything happened that I wouldn't lose my cool...I've never cried like this Kirah." He let out another shaky breath as he held the ring in his palm before hiding it in a fist, "I also promised that I'd let go...but I don't know if I can, it hurts so bad." He took off his glasses and after putting the ring in his jacket pocket began to wipe smudges from his tears off.

Kirah nodded silently. "No one would expect you to let go this quickly... but... there's a difference between grieving, and coming to terms with her d-" She gulped past a sob on that word. "Death, and never letting go. I think she was asking, that you don't hold onto it... live your life to the fullest! Besides... I'm sure God has something, if not someone else planned for you." She held back her tears, trying to be strong for him... she hated seeing him like this, and in a way... it hurt. He could never love me like this... who am I kidding?
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I've known her for six years...I found out she was very sick two years back and began searching for the cure to it...because it's fatal. For a while she was doing really good, we thought maybe she was healed of it. But two weeks back I noticed that she wasn't doing so good and I guess..." Robert sighed, he really was trying to be stronger but the ache wouldn't let him.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Why didn't she ever tell me?" She asked herself... then: "Come on Robert... just let it out!"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
And boy did he! Robert cried for a long time, he'd never done it that much. His heart was broken and of course he was going to grieve for a while, she was after all; his fiancee.
Eventually he began to doze off just sitting there but shook himself awake and suggested that he give Kirah a ride home.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah frowned as her brows furrowed. "Are you sure you'll be fine? If I wake up and find out you killed yourself... expect me there too! I'm not sittin' down here all alone!" She stared at him, wondering if he really would be okay... if wounds like that to the heart... could ever really be healed.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I'll be fine...I'll stay up late and eat junk food...I know Jamie wouldn't like that but it's me." Robert ran his hands through his now messy black hair and pulled himself up off the floor.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah stood up as well. She was wearing loose, black trousers with red pointy-toed shoes, and a teal blue wrap shirt with a grey cami underneath. Jamie had picked it out... they always went shopping together. She smiled wearily, and rested a hand on his shoulder. "You're the strongest person know... no doubt. You'll get through this, though it may not seem like it now." She was trying her hardest not to cry, but boy she fell apart, losing all composure just then. She sobbed with every thought, or remembrance of Jamie... it hurt so much.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert wrapped his arms around her hand held her close, closing his eyes and rocking her just a little bit.
"You're allowed to cry too...we'll get through this together..." He said, tears ran down his cheeks but he wasn't crying as hard as he had been earlier that evening.

"It was my fault though! I should've seen it... I was right there! I thought she was tired..." She sobbed in his shirt as her body trembled with every sob. "It's all my fault..."
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert shook her head, "No...there was nothing you could do...I saw it coming and I knew there was nothing to be done. Jamie was really fatigued yesterday, she collapsed during our date the other night too, I knew something was up. Do not blame yourself." He wouldn't let her, just like he wouldn't let her pay back, or give back a gift...he just wouldn't let her blame herself.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
She cried anyway, wishing she had known Jamie longer. She Tried to compose herself, but it was almost impossible. Finally, she pulled away, and she looked like she'd been through a nightmare. "Who's gonna go shopping with me... or help me pick suitable guys for dating?" Who's going to be my best friend?
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert smiled tearfully, "I can't do any of that for you...but I'm going to be your best friend, and I promise right now that if anything happens to you...I'll be there to catch you when you fall." He said, it was the same thing he promised Jamie the day she'd cried in his arms after losing someone.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah didn't know what to say. "Thank you Robert... but I always counted you as a best friend... you've done everything for me!" She wiped her tears away, and tried not to cry again... it was so hard.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Well...I can't hook you up with 'cute guys' or go shopping with you...but I can do everything else a best friend can do...and most of all I'll be there when you need me, okay?" Robert was trying to cheer himself up, he knew as soon as he got home he'd feel lost and alone again...he'd been living with Jamie for a while and he was used to her being there.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
She smiled gratefully, and placed a hand on his cheek. "Thank you so much... I'm always here for you too... always. If you ever need anything... just ask. And I mean it." She let her hand fall back to her side, as she tried to motivate herself to walking.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert laughed a little as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and took her hand, "We may need each other for a little while...I think it impacted us a bit hard." He guided her along as he worked his hardest to motivate himself, he just wanted to lay on the floor and cry.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah nodded solemnly. "It did... I feel so... lost without her. Who's going to randomly cheer me up when I'm dealing with a particularly fussy computer? She had... a knack for that. For her, it was always easy to cheer someone up." She smiled as she remembered nearly throwing a computer out the window, and Jamie had offered to do it instead since she wasn't a computer geek and she wouldn't feel as bad about it.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert laughed, "You've got me again there, honestly I hate dealing with the computers around here, and sometimes for research I spend hours looking up data and such...it's a pain in the butt and I don't like it. Sorry the company computer was a problem today." He was surprised that he could laugh so easily, every time his thoughts went back to Jamie his heart would shatter again.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Yup... it doesn't blue screen on start menu anymore. Just... don't bring up Internet Explorer up for awhile. Use Firefox until I'm done." She laughed too, wondering how either of them could find a topic so light this day.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert nodded, "Okay...I'll make sure to notify everyone else. Are you going to be okay when you get home?" It wasn't that he was totally worried about her...he just didn't want either of them to be alone.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I don't know... I guess I'll be fine. I'll be lonely, but I guess I'll live." She stared ahead of herself, and didn't really focus on anything but walking in a straight line... Robert was pretty much steering her.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I'll just be eating junk food and watching movies if you want to come over...you're barely keeping yourself standing..." He looked worried, "I know I myself...I'm not feeling too good on my feet either so..."
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Actually... that's be nice... I'd like that." She smiled wearily, "Thank you." She didn't know what else to say...
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
So Robert took her to his house. For the most part it was clean and tidy and smelled like Glade candles...probably the work of Jamie before she passed away.
"Welcome to my humble abode!" Robert said before collapsing on the couch and covering his eyes with a moan, he felt so sad being here without Jamie, but at the same time he was happy that he wasn't completely alone.
