She laughed a bit. "I should assume so. I have stitches in my stomach and my head, and that's just what I can see."

"Yeah, I wanted to be with you when they were checking you out to make sure you were okay but they kicked me out and told me I wasn't clean enough..." Markus said.

She frowned. "That's probably a good thing." Then she smiled again. "Though I don't think your that dirty. My dad got worse than that after a days work... But he worked with pigs."

"I work in the fields at my grandfathers farm. That's why I look like this. Though yesterday I was covered head to toe in blood." Markus explained as his face turned red.

"Sorry bout that." She laughed as he blushed. "I guessed that from what the doctor said. So what do you grow?"

"Too many things to count." Markus stated as he sat up straighter, "We have some grape vines, corn, and several other things."

"I see. My dad mostly did pigs, and corn. Though he had an orchard, he mostly let that go though. His father planted it, but he was more into livestock. I had some grapes back at my old place."

"I'll have to show you around." Markus offered in a kind voice, "Would you like to have lunch with me? I wanted to use my lunch break to come see you but we can have something to eat together."

"Oh.... That would be fun... Though I'm not really hungry so maybe I'll just have something to drink."

"Tell you what...we'll meet up in a couple days and get to know each other. I'd like you to rest for now." Markus said as he patted her hand gently.

She blinked she hadn't been expecting that. "Sure okay." She said, "We can meet tomorrow. But I really don't need more rest."

Markus stood up, "Well...you need to let the wounds heal. Excessive moving could open it up again."

She sighed. "You sound like my brother. Fine, I'll rest." She smiled again.

Markus smiled, "Okay, I'll check on you later. See ya." Then he left to get back to work.

"Bye." She laughed.

A couple days later Markus met Claire for lunch. He brought home made foods and glasses of grape juice for them to enjoy.

Clarie smiled at him. "Hi!" She waived. She wore a sun dress, and a straw hat. She looked very much like a child.

Markus had his messy blond hair combed over a bit and was wearing his usual farmer-style clothing. He didn't seem as dirty as the day before.
"Hey. Hungry?"

"Kinda," She laughed. "I could eat. That is the reason I'm here I think. Oh and to get you to take me around to meet everyone. Maybe find a Telephone? My cell phone wasn't working..."

Markus was puzzled for a mere second, "Oh! Yes...why of course!" They ate some lunch and then he proceeded to introduce her to the towns people before taking her to the mayors office to use the phone.

"The Town hall," She looked around. "is the only place with a phone? That's a little different. What if you need the doctor?"

Markus tilted his head, "Well...we're working on getting phones around everywhere. I think there is another phone at the inn. We don't always have emergencies here. The crash was the most action we've had in years." He explained.

"I see..." She said and smiled. "I guess that's a good thing. That you don't get many emergencies I mean."
She looked around picking up a small knick-knack off the shelf.

"Go ahead and use the phone. I'll wait outside." Markus said as he walked out the door.

"Okay I'll only be a minuet or two." She said, and set down the object.
She picked up the phone and dialed her parents house.
"Hey, this Is Rick!"
"Hey. Rick, is Matt there yet?"
"Nah! It's off flying the blue skys somewhere. Meanwhile I'm here stuck with the lawyers and junk. Speaking of which where are you?!"
"I'm on an island in the town of Herbertville I guess."
"Never heard of it." Said Rick bluntly. "Anyway I guess I'll talk to you later. Kim just got back."
"I see.... Okay talk to you later."
Rick hung up.
