Re: Unemployed Ninja
Once they got really far away, I felt them lower me to the ground, then scramble around to get the blankets off. Once free, I found I was looking in the face of...
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I was glad to see her face, she was beautiful as ever.
"Aja." I kissed her passionately for a moment then stepped back, "We're going to take you home...you're free now."

Re: Unemployed Ninja
Tears welled in my eyes as I tried to keep my composure. "Help me up then! I'm ready to be home!" Koharu walked over, taking my hand and lifting me to my feet. I then waddled over to my husband, ready to melt into his warm, comforting embrace.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I linked my arm with her and we walked down the slope. I carried her some of the trip though when we got past the rocky parts.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
After a while of walking, I gasped, noticing something. "Hey, we switched hairstyles! Now I'm the one with long hair!"
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"I would say no, but I know you like it short so go ahead." I replied, pausing from walking to let him cut it. I was actually starting to like my hair short... but I'd never tell him that.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I cut it to where it only came above her shoulders, "There, it looks good on you!"
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"Hmm.." I said, feeling the length. "It's quite a bit longer than you normally cut it. Why the sudden change?" I asked with a smile.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"I...feel as life changes that we change too. I want your hair to look like this from now on." I fingered it gently, "It fits you."
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I giggled. "Whatever you want." I gently took his hand. We needed to catch up with the other two who had gone on without us. "So, how did you meet Koharu? He's no ninja."
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"I scared off his dinner, he offered me 'jerky' and then asked me questions about what I was doing." I sighed, "I didn't tell too much."
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I laughed. "He's seems really nice! And he has an eye for Kagome too. I can tell." I said, tapping my head with my index finger. "Womanly senses tell me this."
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"K-Kagome-sama...?" I frowned deeply, "Mother would have to approve of that first!"
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"Maybe so, but he seems nice enough... you should know! You've been with him for however long!" I replied, finding it a little amusing that Ijin was so worked up about this!
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"H-He's a hunter! She would be marrying out of the family and he could take her away!" I was angry now, "He's not a shinobi!"
Re: Unemployed Ninja
Why was he so upset? "You married out of the family! And I'm not a Kunoichi either. Ijin, please. Calm down!" I squeezed his hand, trying to reassure him that I was on his side... but Koharu didn't seem so bad...
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"NO! I won't calm down! You may not be a kunoichi but you are of ninja descent. He is not! I will forbid her to marry him!" Thankfully they were far enough ahead that they couldn't hear me.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
My eyes widened. "But... I'm not of ninja decent either, Ijin!!" I exclaimed, tears welling in my eyes. "What made me so different?"
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"We met practicing Ninjutsu, you were not an enemy and we practically grew up that way. I can't trust someone who isn't with us nor against us yet...I don't know how." I wasn't raised to open my arms so freely.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I sighed, and resigned with a small nod. I was positive Koharu was a good person, and not our enemy. But how was I supposed to prove that?
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"Watch your step." I guided a little while later. We were getting close to Iga so now it was just an uphill climb. An uphill climb with a pregnant woman is very nerve wracking.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"Alright, thanks." I said, holding onto Ijin for support as I made the uphill climb. It was starting to hurt my back too. I couldn't wait until I was home.
Re: Unemployed Ninja
"Up we go..." I said, helping her on the last rock, we were almost there, I could smell food and it smelled mouth watering!
Re: Unemployed Ninja
I climbed up the last rock to see home. Oh, I never saw it as beautiful as I did that day. I almost collapsed right then from the absolute relief that being home brings. So I sobbed instead.
