Unemployed Ninja

I kept screaming. "KAGOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!! WATER. COMING OUT OF ME! NEED ASSISTANCE!!!!"

"Baka!" Kagome barked in my face and then ran into our room. It took me at least...twenty seconds to figure out what was going on. Then I dropped the glass and ran to the door - now to know if Kagome would let me in or not! (that smiley doesn't belong there! ^^)

I sighed with relief when Kagome came. "Good! You're here! What do I do?!" Yes, I was freaking out. My first child... it was an odd feeling to know I would finally meet him.

She actually let me in but it was horror instead of excitement.

"First you strangle Ijin for being an idiot!" Kagome grinned deviously.

"Shut up!" I barked, taking Aja's hand very gently, "Don't listen to her! I watched her being born so you just have to breathe first!"

"No! She needs to walk around the room so she can speed it up!"

"Who is the baka now?!" I retorted, hoping that this wasn't confusing my wife.

His hopes were shot. I was completely confused. "SOMEONE MAKE A DECISION, PLEASE! WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT, THIS BABY IS COMING SO MAKE UP YOUR MINDS OR I'LL YELL 'BAKA' AT BOTH OF YOU FOR A MONTH!!"

"Ah, Ijin is right. Breathe first, I've never seen a baby being born my entire life!"

"EHE?!" I shouted, "Kagome is out of her league! I'm getting Mother!"

"No, I'll do it, Baka!" She ran out of the room, leaving me to take care of Aja. I was suddenly fearing for my life.

I squeezed his hand pretty hard as an uncomfortable feeling wracked my body. It hurt. I breathed like they told me to, but I had no idea what I was doing! "Ijin... if you leave me, I'll kill you."

"I won't leave you and not just for that reason either!" I was afraid.

"Ah, sweet Aja-sama!"

My mother came in looking excited, "You're going to have a baby! This is a happy time, rejoice and be glad!"

I glared at the woman and growled. "PAIN IS NO HAPPY MATTER!!"

"Aw! I smiled all the way through giving birth to Ijin, and he was a big baby too!"

Was that a compliment or...?

"Now now, you should be happy that this is happening. Better now than never!" She said.

I glared at her. If this baby was a wimpy small baby, I swore I would die! "Just help me please!"

"Okay, I'm helping!"

I ended up sitting right behind her towards the end of the ordeal. I felt worn out and I wasn't even doing anything!

I pushed as hard as I could, and then I heard the tell tale cry of the newborn. I was so worn out, I could have slept right then... but I had to stay awake to nurse the baby. "What's the gender?" I called softly.

"I-It's a girl!"

My eyes widened considerably, "Are you sure?! What's that thing on...her?"

"That's the cord, Ijin, and you said you've seen this before. Baka." Kagome replied.

I smiled a bit, "Wow...a strong little girl..."

"A girl?! I knew it was a girl all along! Hand her over!!!" I exclaimed, reaching my arms out to take my daughter.

I watched in complete awe as my mother gently handed our newborn daughter to Aja. She had such amazing deep blue eyes and thick black hair! I almost cried. I reached down to stroke her hair, noting how it felt softer than satin under my finger.

I took her, holding her close as she was fed for the first time. She was a beautiful baby... and big too! HA! My pain was not to be mocked, now! "Thank you, everyone..." I whispered. "Especially you, Ijin. Thank you." I smiled happily. I was truly glowing.

Kagome and Mother smiled warmly before leaving us alone to get acquainted with our daughter. It felt surreal to me, that she was there in Aja's arms.

"This...has been an amazing night..." I said, resting on the futon next to Aja, I'd changed it out shortly after Mother and Kagome left.

"Yes, and she's very beautiful! I don't know where she got it from! It must have been your side! Kagome and Mother are so beautiful!" I smiled warmly, gazing down at our daughter.

"Aja...do you remember what I said about your eyes?" I put my fingers under her chin and moved her head to face me, so we were eye to eye. "You're beautiful, breathtaking even."

I giggled, and blushed like young girl who had just gotten married. "R-really?" My eyes had not been grey in a long while. Not while in the cell, or even while giving birth. I was still silver-eyed Aja.

"I mean it, Aja..." I caressed her cheek, "Please do not put yourself down any longer."

I looked away from his piercing gaze, to the floor. "I'm sorry... I won't."

"Hey, I'm not mad. I just want you to be confident." I smiled warmly and held her in my arms, gazing over her shoulder at the baby.

"Hey...she needs a name."

"Aye, that she does." I replied softly. "What do you think we should name her?"
