Unemployed Ninja

"Ah...the sun is shining outside today..." I smiled a little and looked at her, "I think things are going to get better soon. We shouldn't be scared. They've done nothing but take us away from our home and family - it can't get any worse."

"You're right." I said gratefully. "I miss home. I miss mother, and Ijin yelling at me because I lifted a plate from the table. I seeing you run inside jumping up and down because you found a new purpose for an herb." I said, recalling fond memories.

"I remember when you told Ijin you were pregnant and shouted in three different languages for a couple hours because he was so excited." I grinned, "Good times."

I laughed. "I remember that! Hey, remember the time I went to get up from the table and Ijin insisted he help me? I was only a month pregnant!" I said, laughing. I really missed him.

"One month is like eternity to him. I can imagine he's in hysterics by now...how are you feeling by the way?" I asked, curiously. I remembered slightly before leaving that mother had talked of betrothing me - saying I was getting old.

"I'm doing okay! The baby keeps kicking though... I think he's upset that I'm not singing anymore." I mostly sang becasue it would keep him from kicking and making me sick. And I was absolutely positive that baby was going to be a boy. I just knew it.

"If it's a boy then it would end up being named after Ijin, unless he makes an exception...which he might." I giggled, "He'll do anything for you."

I giggled. "I sure hope so! It would be too confusing! Calling for one and they both come!" I laughed a little.

"Yes, I was named after my grandmother and Ijin was named after our father, only we altered the spelling slightly. Father's name was Ijun." I explained, wondering if she would like to know the history.

"Oh wow!" I replied with a smile. "I don't know who I wa-" I gasped, pressing my hand to my stomach. "Sorry, he kicked again. Anyway, I don't know who I was named after. Do you spell your name the same way your grandmother did?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, she was a late grandmother so it wasn't hard to decipher who we were talking about. Ah, babies are such a joy are they not?" I grinned, I found it amusing when she reacted.

I grinned at her statement. I couldn't help it! I hadn't even given birth to him yet, and the child inside my stomach already had my heart twisted around his little finger. "Mm... yes. I can't wait to meet him. I'd be very happy if he took after his father."

"Grumpy, stubborn as a mule...yes very good traits!" I laid down on the wooden floor and stared up at the barred window behind us.

"Ah... but remember his good traits! Handsome, kindness that if you can pull it out would absolutely blow your mind." I struggled for more words but couldn't think of any. "Alright, so maybe he's not perfect... but that is one thing I love about him!" I sat against the wall. My usual sleeping, eating, and just sitting-for-the-heck-of-it spot.

"Yes, he's one of a kind though. He's slightly over protective...but that's alright too." Suddenly the door creaked open and I saw a man in formal clothing standing there.

I glanced over but ignored him for the most part. I hated it when they came in, disturbing our peace. They had this nasty habit of picking on me too. Luckily we still hadn't told them anything about Ijin.

"Ayaya!!!" I barked jumping to my feet, "What do you want now?!"

He was just there...didn't that just figure?

I looked over to see what the fuss was about. The man who stood before Kagome was tall. Tan too. He had black hair pulled into a small ponytail... and the most amazing yellow eyes. I had never seen him before. And we had seen almost everyone!

He smirked. "I just wanted to make sure both of you are doing well! No pains, ma'am?" He said, looking straight at me before looking to Kagome. "Anything you two need?" He winked at her! Ugh! Stupid men!

"Idiot!" I barked, "We need nothing right now and do not be winking at a pregnant and married woman! It's sinful!" I was irritated with his idiotic attitude. I would NOT stand for such disgusting behavior!

"Alright alright!" He said, throwing his hands up defensively. "I'm sorry, I just think you're rather cute is all! So no, I wasn't winking at her! I do have morals... however hidden they may be." There he went with that smile again. "So you don't need anything? No food or water? Blankets? Pillows?"

"Not from a pervert." I said, stubborn as Ijin.

A snickered at the look of shock on his face. "Ouch! Okay then. Have it your way! I'll just tell my higher ups that you two will take nothing from me! He shall be very cross if he has to come down here!" He began backing out of the room, as casually as possible. The guy was something different!

"Wait, since when do the higher ups send idiots?" I asked curiously. Wow I was being a bit weird today!

He laughed. He actually laughed! I thought he would hit her or something like the other guys, but he didn't! "Hey now! That was rude! I haven't been rude to you miss, so please don't be rude to me." He poked his head out of the door a moment, looking off in the distance before pulling it back in. "Well, I gotta go. If you need anything else, I'll be back tomorrow! See ya, ladies!" He stated with another wink before sliding the door shut, and walking off.

"Wow. He was... odd." I stated softly.

"Mhm." I replied, going to sit next to her, "He was a bit nicer than...others though." I shivered, for what reason I wasn't sure.
