Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah smiled warmly as the manager opened her card, and put on a fake smile. She gave fake thank you's and seemed to pause a moment when her eye's fell upon Kirah's signature. She laughed dryly, and took a pen out of her pocket, scratching Kirah's name out. "It seems as though an extra name was accidentally added! There, I fixed it!" Kirah stared at the ground, but still, she handed over the small gift she could afford. It caused her to get behind on her loan payment... and she'd probably never catch up... but she tried. The woman tore into the small bag, to reveal a small elephant ornament. Their manager loved elephants, she collected them. The woman grunted, and threw it in the trash. "Next?"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert finally found her sitting in his car smiling warmly, "Dang you scared me!" He exclaimed kissing her when he got in.
"Sorry, what took you so long?" She asked popping open a soda can.
"Trying to help someone."

-The Next Day-
Kirah walked in the doors of the hospital, completely lost. She put on her best outfit, which consisted of a faded black skirt, with unraveling string that she kept having to cut off, and a nice, button up shirt that was about two sizes too big. She'd lost a lot of weight since her last pay cut. She looked around, seeing patients everywhere, and she wasn't sure what to do at all. Did she stand there? Did she ask the nurse for a man named Robert? Did she go on her own and try to find him?

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
A young lady came up to Kirah and smiled, "Hey, can I help you?" She asked cheerfully.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah nodded nervously... she knew the woman thought she was stupid. "Uh, yes ma'am... I'm looking for a... Robert? I'm sorry, I don't know his last name." Her dark brown hair was still kept in a ponytail, though she looked best with it down. She didn't have any make-up on... she couldn't afford it... she didn't need it either though. Well, she could do with some eyeliner and mascara, but she didn't need foundation. She stared at her feet. She was wearing some old, scuffed up black heels... they were so old that they were half a size, to a size too small.

"Ah! Robert Jackson, I know who you are talking about! Yes, I'll take you to his office!" The lady took her a couple floors up and into an office where the same young man was working currently.
"Robert, you have a visitor!" The chipper lady called and left Kirah there.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah trembled in her nervous misery. She may have met this man before, and he may have offered her a job, but who's to say he wouldn't turn out the same as he former manager. Sure, he seemed nice... but so did Taylor. She wanted to trust him... but she had trouble. She wanted to believe he'd be different... but she didn't trust so easily anymore... she had been hurt way too many times. "M-Mr. R-Robert?" She stuttered nervously.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert looked up, "Ah! I am so glad you came!" He came over and shook her hand firmly, "And just call me Robert, you're Kirah right?" He asked, he was so friendly.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah was taken a little aback. She nodded slowly. "Yes Sir, my name is Kirah." She offered no more information than he asked, she learned long ago that they really didn't care. She smiled anyway though, despite the fact that just hours earlier she had been ripped into by Taylor, her former manager for turning in a letter of resignation.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert smiled, "Ah, okay. Please call me Robert, you don't have to be scared of me I promise. Have a seat, would you like anything to drink?" He asked, this was his true personality, though he came off as careless at times this was how he was.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah shook her head. "No si-... no thank you. I'm fine right now." She took a seat as instructed, and placed her clasped hands on her lap. Her stomach rumbled irately, and she chastised it silently for being so loud. Besides, it needed to wait two more days! That was when she'd get her food stamps. She'd buy everything she could with them, and stash it away for later. What could last a normal person a week, would last her a month.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert smiled, "Actually I was about to get some lunch, we can talk about hiring you there. What do you like?" He asked, okay so he was accommodating.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Nothing... I'm fine." She said with a smile, standing up. At the sound of food, her stomach betrayed her yet again, and growled louder this time. She blushed, knowing she could hold out for two more days... her stomach always did this a couple days before the food stamps.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Are you sure? I know going hungry is not good for you...I'm not a regular doctor but anyone should know that..." Robert was slightly persistent.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
She smiled warmly, she seemed pretty content. "I've held out this long... I can wait two more days." She smiled wearily as the burning sensation in her stomach grew stronger. Her hands were trembling now from low blood-sugar, she'd hi-jack a sugar packet from the lounge on her way home.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert looked at her closely, "No, I'm sorry I'm not going to let you do that." He pulled her up gently and walked her out to the main lobby of that part of the hospital, hitting a vending machine. He got her a soda for sugar and a bag of chips to tie her over.
"We'll go get some lunch, snack on this first though."
"We'll go get some lunch, snack on this first though."
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah sighed, she took the drink, but stashed the chips in her bag for later... since she assumed he would force her to eat, there was no point in wasting the chips. "Thank you... but you don't have to do this... I'll be fine..."
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I am sorry I just can't watch you starve." So Robert took her to lunch to discuss hiring her.
"Okay so tell me about yourself." He began, this was the beginning of a good thing so it seemed.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah went blank for a moment, before her thoughts quickly formed again. "Well, I'm twenty-three years old, I have a master's degree in Software Development..." She didn't know what else to tell him. It was fairly obvious. She went to college on her own money, got buried in student loans, made her way through college, and realized she didn't have enough money to move to find a job, and that there were no jobs needing a developer here. She now was too poor to even eat... which was quite embarrassing.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Ah! That's perfect!" Robert exclaimed, "Do you have hobbies?" He asked out of curiosity.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah shook her head slowly. "My hobbies are my bills that need to be paid. Sorry, I'm afraid I'm a rather boring person." Perfect? I have trouble believing him... She fingered her drink glass, trying to decide if she should take a sip or not... she knew nothing about the rules for lunch interviews.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert took a sip of his own drink and continued, "Oh no, don't worry about it! I'm sure you have the smarts to have this job. Tell you what, fill out this application for me and bring it back whenever you like. I'll make sure you get hired on the spot." He shook her hand firmly and set down a piece of paper on the table.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah nodded, and took the paper slowly, peering at the questions and such. Coincidentally, the question "What are your hobbies?" was there. A small smile formed on her lips, she thought it was funny.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert smiled, "Go ahead and finish eating and then we'll head back. I promise you won't be sorry, this pays a lot better too and no one here plays favorites." He said.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah gave him a long, piercing gaze. She wanted to know more about him... why he was so kind, and wanted so badly to help her. She looked back to her plate containing a sandwich, and restrained herself from devouring it... plate and all. She knew it just make her even more hungry... but that's what the chips were for! She complied with his orders, and in less than five minutes, the sandwich had disappeared altogether.
