Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah stared at her. "No... I'm sure it would look much better on you. I'll bring it back, I promise!"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"But I bought it for you, please don't." Jamie was completely serious, "And it won't fit me, I'm bigger chested...seriously." She wasn't sure if that was completely true or not but she sure hoped it would work!
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie's brows furrowed, "I'm sorry? Why would you ask something like that? It's just...really..." She seemed confused and slightly frustrated but she really tried to hide it.
"Just keep it, it's a gift!"
"Just keep it, it's a gift!"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah stared at her. "Okay... thank you... I guess..." Chances are that she won't take my money either... these people confuse me! She glanced at her watch, and let out an involuntary gasp. "I'm almost late for work! I'm sorry, I really need to go! Bye!" She ran off, leaving the old torn shirt in the bathroom. She still had to work that day, even though she resigned as well that day. It was under contract apparently.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie didn't even have a chance to ask her if she wanted a ride, so she just left too thinking about what had happened.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah ran down the street toward Wal-Mart, and had to stop to take her shoes off... they weren't good for running in. On her way though, she passed an old man, obviously homeless, sitting by a building, begging for just a few dollars. She smiled kindly, and gave the man all of the cash she had... which consisted of two dollars and seventeen cents. The man thanked her and she also pulled out the bag of chips she had stashed for herself. She gave them to him as well, and walked off on her way. She heard the man sobbing in joy at just a small bag of chips.

-A Year Later-
Jamie had decided to stay in touch with Kirah and soon enough they were the best of friends, them and Robert were constantly doing things together and chatting. Robert wasn't always around though but when he could he would be.
Things were going well. Jamie was working with red cross one day, she'd worked at the hospital for a long time and had volunteered to help during that week. The bad thing was, something was catching up with her and it made her extremely tired and shaky, some days she'd feel fine and others she'd feel sick and weak.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah screamed at the computer to comply, hit a button, and for the third time, it bluescreened. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS??? I thought you loved me!" She poked the screen until the computer came back up fully, and set to work, trying to find out WHY Robert's computer was continually bluescreening whenever the start menu came up. She brought up the start menu and... no bluescreen. She sighed happily, and when she brought up Internet Explorer... "ARGH!!!!!"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie came in suddenly, she'd been around a lot ever since she and Robert had gotten engaged.
"Is it still being a pain?" She asked upon entering the room, she was wearing a tank top and some pajama pants, home with a fever again. She still couldn't figure out why it was hitting her like this.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"Yeah, I mean... I thought I had it! It doesn't blue screen at the start menu anymore... but it does on Internet Explorer. If this weren't a company computer, I'd just download Firefox for him and tell him not to use I.E." She smiled, and got up, hugging her best friend. "How are you? Feeling any better??"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
"I'm feeling really lightheaded right now...but other than that I'm okay. I just want to feel better. Some times I'm fine and other times I'm not. Robert keeps telling me to get some tests done but I really would rather not, it's probably just an off and on cold." She said, though she knew she was lying to herself.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah shrugged. "I agree with Robert... you should do the tests! It'll help... I'm sure!" She smiled. "Besides, if nothing comes up... then you'll be right, and we'll be wrong, and we'll all feel better!"
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie smiled, "I guess so. I'm really glad I have a friend like you, it's really cool!" She said as she sat down near Robert's desk. The computer was still flashing blue for some strange reason.
"Maybe it needs to be reinstalled...or maybe we can convince the company that firefox is better?"

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah growled, and pulled up the command prompt after getting it back to the desktop. She typed in a series of commands, basically telling it to ping Firefox, download it, install it, then completely remove I.E. "Sometimes... I really hate computers." She laughed dryly, and waited patiently for it to finish downloading Firefox.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie closed her eyes and leaned back in the chair, "I'm feeling so tired suddenly...I've never felt this tired." She said with a yawn trying to keep her eyes open but they kept closing.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah stared at her with concern. "Jamie, I think you should go right now and get a test... of... some kind? I dunno...." She knew very little about health care... she just didn't get it. She confirmed that she wanted to install Firefox, and let it install itself.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Jamie kept her eyes closed, "Just a few more minutes..." She muttered taking in a long breath as she was dozing off. It was about that time that Robert came in.
"Hey!" He called, slightly surprised that Jamie didn't respond at hearing his voice like she usually did.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah's heart skipped a beat at his voice... it always did that when she was around him. Whether he spoke, smiled, laughed, or did whatever. She had fallen in love with him, and it nearly crushed her when she'd heard he'd proposed to Jamie. But still, Jamie was her best friend, and she chose to try and forget. She acted as though the only feelings she had toward him were as a friend, or a brother. "She's very tired... I cant get her to do anything!" Kirah pulled up Firefox, and downloaded Internet Explorer again.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert frowned, "Really?" He went over to her and got on his knees in front of the chair, talking to her softly. But then there was a sudden urgency that rose up in his tone.
"Jamie?!" He called suddenly, shaking her just a little bit, "Come on this isn't funny!" He felt for a pulse but there was none. He began to panic and was not hiding it well.

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah was off her chair in less than three seconds when she heard the panic in his voice. Kirah felt for a pulse too, and felt the panic rising in herself as well. "Oh no... she hadn't closed her eyes but for five seconds!!" She shook Jamie roughly, waiting for a response. No... no no no no no!!! This isn't happening!!!
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert was in hysterics, he pulled her off her chair quickly and held her in his arms, "Please answer me, Jamie! Please!" He begged, no one had ever seen him cry and there he sat, on his knees and holding Jamie...crying.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah was crying too... she didn't know what to do at all. She ran out of the office, and got a nurse or two, but they couldn't help... and she knew it too. As the realization hit her, she leaned against the wall, slid down to the floor, and curled up to herself, sobbing. Jamie was her very best friend, and she lost her too.
Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Robert came out of the room about an hour later and walked over to Kirah, he was fingering Jamie's engagement ring and looking as though he was holding back tears.
"This is hard on both of us...she was..." He began nervously, "just the sweetest person we knew...I have no idea what to do with myself now. I feel lost." He eased himself onto the floor next to her and let out a shaky breath, "I knew this would happen...I didn't find it fast enough."

Re: Random RP for me and Cricket
Kirah smiled kindly, but the sadness behind it was purely visible. She took his hand and looked in his eyes. "You're right, she was... I could never find a friend, no matter how long, or how far I searched that was as good as her. I loved her like my own sister... I'm here for you though, Robert. You have my word."
